Digital print glass
Digital Print Glass (ceramic ink) - a design on glass that won't fade or scratch
UV printing or screen printing fades over time, scratches easily, and usually only works indoors – a real limitation when the design is meant for a façade. Digital ceramic printing removes that limitation. Since 2016, SIA Glāzeri BT has printed glass on equipment that is the only one of its kind in Latvia and, at 800 dpi, delivers the sharpest resolution in the Baltics.
An image, pattern or graphic – single or multi-colour – is printed onto the glass surface using ceramic ink. The glass is then tempered: at high temperature, the ink fuses into the glass surface, forming a single, monolithic layer rather than a surface coating.
Resistant to UV exposure, variable climatic conditions and mechanical scratching – the ink becomes part of the glass surface rather than a separate layer
Suitable for both interior and exterior applications, including façades
High resolution (800 dpi) ensures precise detail and colour reproduction even across large surfaces
Long-term durability with no degradation of print quality or colour over time
If the design is for interior use only and won’t face wear, a simpler UV print may be enough. But if the glass will sit on a façade, outdoors, or somewhere subject to frequent contact and cleaning, digital ceramic printing is the only option that guarantees the image won’t lose quality over the years.
