Laminated glass

Laminated Glass (VSG) - safety glass that holds together even when broken

When ordinary glass breaks, it shatters into sharp shards – dangerous to people and risky for property. Laminated glass solves that: when broken, the fragments stay bonded to the film and the glass keeps its shape. SIA Glāzeri BT produces laminated glass (triplex) using EVA film technology, fusing two or more panes into a single multi-layer construction.

An EVA film is placed between two or more glass panes, and the assembly is pressed together under vacuum and high temperature (up to 140°C) to form a single, monolithic multi-layer glass. Lamination can be applied to float glass, mass-tinted glass, glass with or without solar control coatings, as well as painted or sandblasted glass.

  • Safety glass: when broken, fragments stay bonded to the film instead of scattering – significantly reduces injury risk

  • Additional sound insulation compared to single-pane glass

  • Protection against UV radiation

  • Increased resistance to mechanical impact and forced entry

If human safety is the priority – shopfronts, stairs, flooring – standard laminated glass already delivers that. If acoustic performance also matters (offices, street-facing apartments) or protection against break-ins (banks, retail, higher-risk institutions), a thicker or multi-layer film can be built in. If design is the priority, decorative elements – patterned film, textile or photographic material – can be laminated between the panes. Not sure which option fits your project?
